Car washing and vehicle dirt is a feature introduced on the 13th of October, 2020 and was created by Rauf, with help from St3fan[NL]. This feature enables synced dirt to appear on vehicles, which can be washed off by either going to a car wash or being hosed down by the fire department.

Feature Details

Since the introduction of this feature, all the vehicles on the server have the ability to get dirty. The implementation is different from the normal GTA V one and is fully synced.

Getting dirty

As you drive your vehicle around around in the city, your vehicle will slowly start getting dirtier and dirtier. If you are driving within specific areas of the county, your vehicle will get dirty twice as fast, requiring more frequent washes in order to keep it clean.

Washing your car

Cars can be washed in two different ways, either by going to a car wash that is signaled on the map or by getting hosed down by the Fire Department. In order to wash your car at a car wash, you need to have $300 on hand and to either press E or use the command /carwash. An animation will start playing and your car will be cleaned off.

If the vehicle you are washing is a government vehicle (LSPD, LSSD) the washing will be paid for by the government, but you will still be required to have the $300 in hand.

Underlying script

The feature works by giving each vehicle a floating point dirt value between 0.0 and 15.0. Dirt on the vehicle starts being visible at level 2, and approximately each 41.7 minutes of non stop driving will increase your vehicle's dirt level by 1. In total, you need to drive 10.42 hours in order to reach dirt level 15. There are areas in the countryside where your vehicle will get dirty twice as fast compared to the city.

Dirt level 15 is the maximum dirt level allowed by the game, as in GTA V cars can't get any more dirty than that.

• Level 1 - 0.695 hours
• Level 2 - 1.39 hours
• Level 3 - 2.08 hours
• Level 4 - 2.78 hours
• Level 5 - 3.47 hours
• Level 6 - 4.17 hours
• Level 7 - 4.86 hours
• Level 8 - 5.56 hours
• Level 9 - 6.25 hours
• Level 10 - 6.95 hours
• Level 11 - 7.64 hours
• Level 12 - 8.34 hours
• Level 13 - 9.03 hours
• Level 14 - 9.73 hours
• Level 15 - 10.42 hours

All these hours are divided by two when driving in the county.

Commands

/carwash (Or pressing E) - Will wash your vehicle if you are at a car wash.

/checkdirt - Displays the vehicle's internal dirt level.
